Mrs. Jennie Dee Webb, 74, a lifetime resident of the Cherryvale vicinity, died at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb 10, in Mercy Hospital in Independence, where she had been a patient two months.
Mrs. Webb was born Dec 7, 1890 in Tecumseh, Neb., the daughter of Stephen and Jennie (Holmes) Hopkins. She was married Dec 20, 1914 in Parsons to Grover C. Webb, who preceded her in death May 7, 1962.
Survivors include wo sons, Wilbur M. Webb of Cherryvale, and Luther R. Webb of Coffeyville; a daughter, Miss Freda P. Webb of the home; two grandchildren; four brothers, Lee Hopkins, Coffeyville, Luther Hopkins, Sloan Iowa; Arthur Hopkins, Augusta and Alfred Hopkins, Dennis, and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Moore of Cherryvale, and Mrs. Nell Hart of Lawton, Okla.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb 14, 16 2:30 p.m. in the Cherryvale Nazarene Church with the pastor, the Rev. Joe Bozeman, officiating.
Don, John and Wyne VanDyne accompanied by Mrs. Gene Adams, organist, sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".
Ladies in charge of the flowers were Miss Martha Jane Blades, Mrs. George Davis, Mrs. Nora Housel, Mrs. Roxie Jewett, Mrs. Robert Miller and Mrs. Lloyd Pickens.
Casketbearers were Allen Clotfelter, George Davis, Robert Driesbach, Larry Holliday, Dick Jones and Tom Molidor.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery under direction of the Burns Funeral Home.
