CARMEN- The funeral for Edith Stiles Elle, 87, was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Cleo Springs United Methodist Church with the Revs. C.M. Wilson and J.M. Lemmon officiating. Burial followed in the Aline Star Cemetery under the direction of the Fairview Funeral Home.
She was born to Ed and Mary Belle Dean Bennett and died at the Carmen Nursing Home.
She married Orvill Ray Stiles in 1928 at Fairview and moved to Cleo Springs in 1946. She married Robert Elle on Jan. 1,1964, in Cleo Springs. She worked as a Nurses Aid at the Carmen Home, retiring at the age of 76. She had lived in the Cleo Springs area for 51 years until moving to the nursing home three years ago.
She is survived by one son, Jimmy Dean Stiles of Helena; five daughters, Deloris Francis of Enid, Mrs Julian (Janie) Nightengale of Cleo Springs, Mrs Raymond (Sue) Barnes of Longdale, Mrs Harold (Peggy) Ent of Carmen, Mrs Joe (Charlotte Ann) Anson of Oakwood; one sister Ethel Drees of Wichita, Kan.; 18 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, one son: Orvill Edgar, one daughter: Mary Cyrena, one grandson:Paul Lee Nightengale, one granddaughter: Donna Kingcade and seven brothers: Earl, John, Floyd, Robert, Joe, Arthur and Elmer Leon.
