Mary Wood George Horner, 90, passed away on August 25, 2008 in Sandy, Utah.


She was born December 18, 1917, in Woods Cross, UT to John Perry Benson, Jr. and Mable Page. On Jan. 29, 1941, she married Gordon Price Wood in the Salt Lake Temple. Mary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including Relief Society president and temple worker. She also volunteered at the Lion House. Mary was very devoted to her family and was a loving and devoted caregiver to any and all who needed her.


She is survived by two sons, Dennis (Rita) Wood and Ray (Kathy) Wood; two stepsons, Jim (Cheryl) George and Spencer (Barbara) George; nine grandchildren, 10 step-grand children, and many great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Charles Sierer, husbands, Gordon P. Wood, Harry M. George, Onis Henderson and Faris Horner; and five siblings.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Peruvian Park Ward Chapel, 1500 East 8600 South Friends may call on Monday, September 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) and on Tuesday at the Church one hour prior to the services.
Interment at Vine Bluff Cemetery.
