Mrs. Cora Rife Barnett, 88, died early Sunday morning July 28, 1968 at the Sunshine Haven Nursing Home in Hiawatha. She had been a patient there the past six years. She was born in Summerset [Somerset] county, Pennsylvania and came to Kansas with her parents at the age of two years, residing in the Powhattan community until she went to the nursing home six years ago. Mrs. Barnett was a member of the Powhattan United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Clyde Barnett of Willows, California, a sister Mrs. Viola Pickering of Eureka, Kansas, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Arthur Barnett in 1948 and by a daughter, Mrs. Edith Kneisel in 1950. Funeral services will be held from the Powhattan United Methodist Church at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning July 31 with the Rev. Harold Wolfe officiating. Interment will be at the Powhattan cemetery.
