Ike Ashton age 78 of Peel, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2008 at his home. Ike was born in Peel, Arkansas on March 24, 1930. He was the son of the late Ernest & Myrtle (Motley) Ashton. Ike was a lifetime resident of Marion County and building contractor by trade. Ike was a member of the Peel Full Gospel Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korea War. Ike enjoyed any outdoor activity be he especially enjoyed hunting deer and turkey.
Ike is survived by his sons: Greg Ashton and his wife, Lennie of Peel, Ar Chester Hoyle of Yellville, David Hoyle of Yellville, Danny Johnson of Yellville and Tony Johnson of Yellville His daughters: Barbara Wood, Carolyn Merriman and Robbie Wilson all of Yellville

His sister: Maxine McDonald of Peel, Arkansas

Ike is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Earl and Everett Ashton and a sister; Ruth Williams.

There will not be a visitation for Mr. Ashton. Services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Peel Full Gospel Church with Bro. Carroll Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be Fred Austin, Don Austin, Keith Evans, Mark Grozis, Lenny Hodge and Donnie Wallace. Burial will be in the Peel Cemetery
