Deceased Name: HODGES A. 'DEEDIE' FOLSE SR.
Hodges A. "Deedie" Folse Sr., a construction contractor, died Friday of lung cancer at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 67. Mr. Folse was a lifelong resident of Raceland.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, a past commandant of the Bayou Parish Detachment of the Marine Corps League and a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene Beauvais Folse; two sons, Emile and Hodges A. "Deedie" Folse Jr.; four daughters, Mary Beth Plair, Susan Folse, Theresa Aguillard and Molly Windwehen; four brothers, Clayton, Gatewood "Pott," Reed and Harold Folse Sr.; three sisters, Leonelle "Nan" Melancon, Helen Zerangue and Zefa Penisson; and 11 grandchildren.
A Mass will be said Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church on Louisiana 1 in Raceland.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
