Evelyn Louise Carter, 86, of Edwardsville and formerly of Bingham, died on Thursday,Aug. 28, 2008.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Allen and Sutton Funeral Home in Fillmore, with Pastor Harry Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Fillmore. Visitation will be held from noon-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carter was born on Jan. 23, 1922, in Bingham, the daughter of Eddie and Cleda Meyer Paddock. She married Toney Carter on Aug. 18, 1939, in St. Charles, Mo.
She worked as a waitress for many years at Rustys Restaurant and Auerbachs Womens Apparel in Edwardsville and The Boutique in Hillsboro.
She is survived by her husband; son, Richard �Jake� Carter and his wife Carole of Glen Carbon; daughters, Nancy and her husband Frank Wolff of Sebring, Fla., Tona and her husband Lonnie Scheibal of Glen Carbon, and Pam Carter of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Tamera Martens, Tim Martens and his wife Paula, Vicki Medlyn, Samuel Scheibal and his wife Melissa, Jeremy Potthast and his wife Erica, and Brandon Potthast; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Alexandria Martens, Lacey Medlyn, Niko and Noah Scheibal, and Gavin Potthast; brother, Perry Paddock and his wife Carolyn of Ramsey; sisters, Mary and her husband Darel Hayes of Vandalia, and Cora and her husband Earl Spears of Delphos, Ohio; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lawrence, Burrell and Van Paddock; and sisters, Muriel Halsey, Maxine Thomas and Joy Hailey.
