Earle D. Dunkle October 4, 1924 - August 23, 2008 Earle D. Dunkle, 83, of Bellefonte, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008, at the Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte. Earle was born October 4, 1924 in Walker Twp., the son of the late Wilbur & Blanch Hoy Dunkle. On June 29, 1949 in Hublersburg United Church of Christ, he married Laura E. Deitrich Dunkle who survives. He graduated from Walker Twp. School in 1943. In 1950 he graduated from Central Pennsylvania Business College . He was an accountant for Centre Concrete for many years. He retired in 1986 from Penn State University. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hublersburg. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. For his service he received the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a life member of the Walker Grange. He served as a secretary for the Walker Twp. Supervisors for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing solitaire, sports, Penn State Football and enjoyed working on the daily newspaper puzzles. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl L. Reish and husband Lewis, of Hublersburg; one son, Terry E. Dunkle and wife Teresa, of Bellefonte; two sisters, Norma Berry of Lock Haven, and Dorothy Hall, of Swissdale; five brothers, Mahlon, Ray, Doyle, Donald and Richard; six grandchildren, Michael Reish, Katherine Dunkle, Kelley Burger and husband Beau, Brandon Reish, Elizabeth Ciuchta, & Jennifer Ciuchta all of Bellefonte. Services will be Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paula Curtis-Burns officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home Saturday, August 30, 2008. Burial will be at the Hublersburg Cemetery, Walker twp., with full Military Honors.
