Cookeville: Funeral services for Pastor Kenneth James Vaughn, 53, of Cookeville will be held at 2pm today, Sunday April 22, at Cookeville Christian Fellowship Church. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11am until time of services today, at the church.

Pastor Vaughn died Thursday, April 19, 2007, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 21, 1953, in Farmington, Mich to Hassell (JR) Vaughn Jr. of Cookeville, and the late Betty Sue Prichard Vaughn.

Pastor Vaughn was pastor of Cookeville Christian Church for 23 years and was pastor of Cane Creek Baptist Church prior to that. He graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK, with a doctorate in theology. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider. Pastor Vaughn was also the chaplain for the Putnam County Sheriff's Department and carried his badge and gun proudly. He traveled the world extensively, preaching the gospel.

In addition to his father, his family includes his wife, Mary Ruth Hogue Vaughn of Cookeville; a daughter, Stephanie Ryan Vaughn and fianc'e Cale Clark, both of Cookeville; two sons, John Michael and (A.J.) Anthony James Vaughn, both of Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary Wayne and Patty Vaughn of Silver Point; his stepmother, Billie Vaughn of Cookeville; and two stepsisters, Teresa Ann Massa and Vicki Keylon and husband Tony, all of Cookeville.

Pallbearers will be: Rick Sircy, Allan Hawkins, Chip Beaulieu, Marlen Weaver, Brett Scudder, Rick Newman, Jerry Allen and Micah Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: The Putnam County Sheriff's Dept, Lt. Gary Harris, Sheriff David Andrews and the congregation of Cookeville Christian Fellowship Church.

Bros. Basil Phillips and Mike Campbell will officiate the service.

Crestlawn Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
