Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Robert Ray Odekirk, 83, of Farmington, Utah, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from Alzheimer's Disease.

Born April 26, 1925 in Vineyard, Utah to John Ray and Mattie Marie Johnson Odekirk. He served in World War II on the aircraft carrier USS Tripoli. He also served in the Air National Guard during the Korean conflict. His services in the Navy and the Guard started his lifelong love of airplanes. A graduate of the University of Utah, he worked 34 years as a mechanic for United Airlines. He married Dorothy Doretta Wyatt on July 3, 1948. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 12, 1958. They were loving parents of three children. He was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Shirley Odekirk Young and two children, Cheri Jean and Robert Lynn Odekirk. Survived by his wife, Dorothy, son, David Kent (Sally), Jonathan (Tawnya), brother, Forrest Odekirk, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2008 in the Davis Creek 1st Ward Chapel, 825 South 50 East, Farmington, Utah. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East and 10-10:45 a.m. at the Church prior to services.
Interment: Farmington City Cemetery.
