J.M. Webber, 79, Expires at Home Here Last Night, Complicaaitons of Heart Trouble Claim Longtime Cass Resident, Father of Eight.
Joseph Mason Webber, retired Cass county farmer, a resident of Atlantic 16 years, died at 8 o'clock Monday evening at his home, 511 Hazel Street, after an extended illness. Suffering from heart trouble and complications, he became seriously ill seven weeks ago and had been bedfast three weeks. He was 79 years old. Born in Virginia, Mr. Webber was born Dec. 29, 1855, in Campbell County, VVa., near Lynchburg, a son of Nathaniel and Sarah Crouch Webber. He moved to Cass county after his marriage to Lina L. Daniels, Dec. 19, 1883, in Virginia and located on a farm four miles west of Atlantic. In 1919, Mr. and Mrs. Webber moved into town, where they had since resided. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversay one year ago last December. Mr. Webber leaves to mourn his death his widow and eight children, three boys and five girls. The children are: Ocie E. Webber of Guthrie Center and Mrs. Nellie Lamoreaux, Mrs. Nora Lloyd, Mrs. Pearl Squires, Mrs. Sadie Milford, Clay B. Webbee Mrs. Myrtle Jobes and Harry E. Webber, all of Atlantic. There are thirteen grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jane Hudnall, Mrs. Roberta Hudnall and Mrs. Thannie Woolridge, of Lynchburg, Va., and a brother, Robert Webber of Russell, Ky. Funeal tomorrow. Services will be held at 2:30 Wedday afternoon at the Osbornee-Tomlinson funeral home. The Rev. J. E. Bruner, pastor of the First Baptist Church, assted by the Rev. C. W. McCreight of the United Presbyterian Church, will officiat Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the family home from noon today until 1 o'cloock Wednesday afternoon.

Attended by scores of relatives and friends, funeral services were held at 2:30 this afternoon at the Osborne-Tomlinson funeral home for J. M. Webber, 79, well known resident of Cass county more than a half century and a retired farmer, who died Mond evening at his home, 511 Hazel Street, following a lingering illness. The Rev. J. E. Bruner, pastoo off the First Baptist Church, had charge of the rites and interment was in the Atlantic cemetery. A mail quartet, composed of Rev. Harvey J. Zuern, J. H. Stone, Ira L. Welch and Wilbur Dallinger, accompanied att the piano by Mrs. J. E. Bruner, sang two favorite old hymns of the deceased, "Going Down the Valley" and "City Four Square." Active pallbearers were five sons-in-law, Floyd Lamoreaux, Harry Lloyd, Charles Squires, Paul Milford and Charles Jobes, and an old friend of the familly, Oley Wilson of Omaha. Honorary pallbearers were Winifred Wilburn,, D. E. Milford, B. L. Butler, William Newman, J. A. Hancox and Harr Seybert. There were many beautiful floral tributes.
