Monett, Mo. – The Rev. O. T. Allred, 80, Monett, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Monett, where he had been a patient for two weeks after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Allred was born on Sept 12, 1895. at Laure Ark., and moved to Monett in 1923. He served as a full-time minister for more than 50 years and was still active in the ministry at the time of his apparent attack. He served churches in Kansas, Arkansas and at St. Louis, Blue Eye, Springfield, Niangua, Cabool and Monett in Missouri. In the Monett area, he had been associated with the Massadonia Church, Merls Chapel, Jones Chapel, and founded the Freewell Baptist Church here.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Allred, Monett route 1 Ervin Allred, Sarcoxie, and Everett Allred, Purdy route 1; two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Wells and Mrs. Henry Boydstun, both of Rogers, Ark.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dale Smith and the Rev. Tommy Bashers officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home, Monett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Freewill Baptist Church.
