Born in North Carolina the daughter of Nathan and Dorcas Rumbley, friend of Sarah McIntyre, "Aunt Allie" to the McIntyre children and grandchildren, Allie Rumbley worked as a housekeeper for the Palmer Hotel in Saltville. She also kept a large garden, raised hogs, and was a carpenter on construction sites in the area. She built a barn for her McIntyre family that still stands in Allison Gap, Virginia, today. She lived in the McIntyre home until she died, a much loved family member. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and she taught a Sunday School class at Allison Gap Church of God.
