John Henry Eckroth(5)brn. 1 June 1849 (1850 Census) or 1st June 1849 (Tombstone Inscription) in Stark County, Ohio. He married 12th October 1871 (Stark County marriage book 7, page 525) Barbara Smith born 1st Nov. 1853 in France or Belguim. John lived 3 miles South of Navarre, Ohio and died from a result of a farm accident on July 23rd 1897. His widow Barbara died on 8th January 1929. Both are buried in Row 34, St. Clements Cemetery, Navarre, Ohio. Somtime after 27th of March 1868, John Henry and Barbara adopted a girl-Catharine Stemphley born 27th March 1868 who married who married George W. Branckle. She died on 1st Dec. 1944. In addition to this adopted child, John H.(5) and Barbara raised the following six possibly seven children of their own:
