John W. Means, 84, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Tucson Medical Center.

John was born September 18, 1923 in Oilton, Oklahoma to Don and Janie (Holeman) Means. John served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as well as the U.S. Army before working for civil service as a program manager at Fort Huachuca. He was a past member of the Sierra Vista Elks Lodge #2065; the City Council from 1962-1966; The Sabbar Shrine, York Rite and Scottish Rite; and a Life Member of the V.F.W. #9972.

John is survived by his 4 sons, Dennis (Mary) Means of Hereford, AZ, Charles (Mona) Means of Tucson, AZ, Victor (Yvonne) Means of Nashville, TN, Michael (Nancy) Means of Topeka, KS; 1 brother, Jimmy D. Means; 5 grandsons; 6 granddaughters; 9 great-grandsons and 9 great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 wives, Maxine and Vivian; 2 sisters, Florence and Donna and 1 brother, O.D Means.

Graveside services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, OK and will be at 1:00 P.M. at the Highland Cemetery in Oilton, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 11, 2008.
