Mrs. Cown, 82, passed away on Thursday, Aug 14, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Crisp County and was the daughter of the late Arthur Holloman Dorough and Hattie Louise Kendall Dorough. Mrs. Cown was a homemaker and a member of Shiloh United Met hodist Church and the Midway Community Club. She is survived by her children Fred P. Cown, Jr. of Cordele and Mary E. Cown of Morristown, NJ; two grandsons, William Joshua Jones of Waukegan, IL and Andrew Preston Cown of Jacksonville Beach, FL; daughter-in-law, Bobbie A. Goes; cousins, Grace Palmer, Mary Ellen Garner, J.L. Dorough, Edsel Dorough and Joyce McCall; and her special caregivers, Tracie Felton, Angela Daniels, Burnell Fenn, Wilma Nance, Esta Johnson, Mary Appling, Athalene White and Debra Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred P. Cown, Sr. and a daughter, Karen Jones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 15, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
