INDEPENDENCE, Mo - Raymond T. Murdock, 75, formerly of Girard, died at 7:37 p.m. Friday, May 13, 1988, at the Independence Regional Health Center in Independence, Mo. The family home is in Independence.
He was born Dec. 27, 1912, at Girard, the son of Neal and Julia Webb Murdock. He grew up and attended schools in Girard.
He married Florence I. Dickey Feb. 1, 1971, at Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.
Mr. Murdock was employed as an iron worker and was a member of the Iron Workers Union No. 10 of Kansas City, Mo.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Girard.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Murdock and Kevin Murdock, both of Girard; step-son Gary Pence, Blue Springs, Mo.; two step-daughters, Lois Kelley of Lee's Summit, Barbara Finley of Independence, Mo.; one brother, Earl Murdock of Girard; two sisters, Letha Bennefeld, Girard and Alta Barlow, Independence; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard, with the Rev. Christian Schonberg officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Carson Funeral Home in Independence, Mo. Friends may call at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Casketbearers will be Scott Bennefeld, Pete Hanson, Pete Masser, Don McDaniel, Richard Murdock and Raymond Vogts.
