BAILEY RITES SET MONDAY MORNING
Funeral services for Sam W. Bailey, 65, of 2628 Pinebrook Drive, will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. from the Adaton Baptist Church, near Starkville, with the Rev. Leo Bailey of Charleston, and the Rev. Bennie H. Wright of Eupora, officiating. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
His body will lie in state at the church for one hour before the service, and in the meantime will be at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home.
He had been in failing health for the past two years and died early Friday morning at the Veterans Hospital.
A native of Vardaman and former resident of Starkville, he was a retired farmer and had lived in Jackson for the past year.
He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Baptist Church.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Fannie Mae Hendricks Bailey; four daughters, Miss Mary Bailey, Miss Eva Pearl Bailey, both of Jackson, Mrs. Donald Prisock, of Starkville, and Mrs. Shirley Parker of Shreveport, La.; four sons, Charles R. Bailey of Jackson, S.W. Bailey, Jr. of San Diego, Calif., Harry G. Bailey of Fort Jackson, S.C., and James Early Bailey of Union City, N.J.; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maud Hefner, of Meridian; and two brothers, John Jess Bailey, of Texas and Bill Bailey of Vardaman.
