Evelyn M. Abel, 93, formerly of 200 Luther Lane, Columbia, PA died on Monday at Luther Acres in Lititz where she had been residing for one year. Born in Columbia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Fannie Frank Abel. She retired from the payroll department of the Pa. Highway Department in Harrisburg where she was employed for 40 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Columbia and sang in the church choir for many years.
Surviving is a Brother: Harold M. "Jack" Abel, Sr. of Columbia and a Nephew: Harold M. "Jack" Jr. husband of Lucinda Abel of Columbia. She was predeceased by a Brother: Theodore L. Abel and a Sister-In-Law: Mary Abel.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 9:30 AM at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia, PA with her pastor Rev. Deborah Brumbaugh officiating.
