Wayne Clinton Carter, 79, of Frisco, Texas passed away July 1, 2010. He was born August 14, 1930 in Rockhill, Texas. His family was one of the farming families in the community, having farmed the land where Wakeland High School stands.
On June 6, 1953, Wayne married Barbara Nell Cunningham in Fort Worth, Texas.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frisco. His greatest joy in life was his dog and his three daughters.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Nee Cunningham Carter; daughters, Nikki Nell Carter Parrott and her husband, Randall Jay Parrott, Edie Marie Carter Vaughn and her husband, Blake Lane Vaughn, Welda RaMae Carter Varela and her husband, Guillermo (Mo) Varela; six grandchildren, Kylie Lane Vaughn, Jaime Nicole Parrott, Lucas Carter Vaughn, Justin Randall Parrott, Dillon Blake Vaughn, Madison RaeAnn Varela; one brother, Roy Lee Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father and mother, Homer E. Carter Sr. and Claudie Mae Holbrook Carter; sister, Thelma Louise Carter Gibbs; brothers, Jonny Cleveland Carter, Homer E. Carter Jr.; granddaughter, Ashley Dawn Parrott; his beloved dog, Snooker.

A funeral service was held at First Baptist Church of Frisco on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Martin officiating. Interment followed at Ridgeview West Memorial Park. Family and friends were invited to Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco for a visitation on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m.
