Funeral services for Cindy LeeAnn Blessen, 52, of Levelland will be Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Austin Street Church of Christ with Elgin Conner officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at the funeral home. She died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident.
Cindy was loved and cherished by family and friends. The loving daughter of D. C. and Mary Caswell was born on Dec. 20, 1955. Cindy was a 1974 graduate of Levelland High School, 1976 graduate of SPC, and 1978 graduate of West Texas State University with a degree in music education. She married Elton (Al) Blessen on July 12, 1980. They had two sons that were the light of Cindy's life, and two beautiful grandchildren that she adored. Cindy and Al moved numerous times over the years and she always made a huge impact on the communities that she lived in through her church service and her volunteer work. Cindy was a mother to all. Her nieces and nephews were blessed with her generosity and love. Her CASA children and students held a special place in her heart. She was a very active member of the 13th and Avenue K Church of Christ in Levelland, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a CASA volunteer, a member of the Sweet Adelines, a board member of the Prairie Winds Chorus, and a music teacher.
She is survived by her parents, her husband, two sons, a brother, a sister, and two grandchildren.
