Ada G. Powers, age 88, of Maumee, died Thursday in St. Luke's Hospital. Mrs. Powers was employed at the former Gouttierre Bakery on West Wayne St. in Maumee for 9 years, retiring in 1968. Prior to this, she worked at the former Wagonlander's 5 & 10 Store, Tomlinson's Drug Store, Paul S. Pauken Groceries and Meats and the Maumee Color Company, better known as "The Buttergilt". She was a 1926 graduate of Maumee High School and attended Davis Business College in Toledo.
The widow of Joseph L. Powers and Melvin Redman, she is survived by her son, Donald D. (JoAnn) Redman of Maumee; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne Funeral Home, Sunday from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. Interment, Swan Creek Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to St. Luke's Hospital.
