Joseph Watson Garman, Sr. age 91, died on Monday August 4th, 2008 at South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton.
Born in Plainfield he had resided in West Portal for many years before moving to Bridgeton.
He attended the University of Dayton and Ohio State receiving his associates degree.
Mr. Garman was employed at Mack Trucks and served as Financial Secretary of the Union Local 343 of AFLCIO. He also worked with the Salvation Army for over 20 years before he officially retired in 1988He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in his spare time he enjoyed reading, watching sports, bird watching and taking care of his many pets.
Predeceased by his wife Opal Frances Garman in 2004; his sister Florence Clevett; brothers Earl Garman, Charles Wolfmayer and Robert Wolfmayer.
Surviving are his two sons Gary Garman and his wife Cynthia and Watson Garman and his wife Glynnis; his two daughters June Pietro and her husband Paul and Joan Pierce and her husband Thomas; his brother Walter Garman; brother John Wolfmayer and his wife Jo; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
