Gordon Austin, a resident of Brainerd, MN, formerly of Albany, MN, died Oct. 20, 2002, at at his home in Brainerd.
Funeral services were held Oct. 24 at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Seamus Walsh officiating. Memorials are preferred.
Gordon was born April 15, 1956, in Pierz to James and Mary (Girtz) Austin. He married Deb Andres Sept. 20, 1975, at St. Michael's Church in Buckman, MN. He worked for Landy Packing for five years before graduating from the St. Cloud Technical College plumbing program in 1980. He worked for Eiynck Plumbing of Albany for 16 years after which he accepted a position with the Brainerd Regional Human Services Center. He was a drummer with the Country Polkateers for over 25 years.
Survivors include his wife Deb; two sons, Neil and Dale both of Albany; two daughters, Lori and husband Eric Sonnenburg of Bagley and Julie at home; one grandson; mother Mary Austin of Pierz, MN; three brothers, Frank and wife Elaine Austin of Richmond, MN, Bruce and his wife Cindy Austin of St. Joseph, MN, Jim and his wife Gloria Austin of Little Falls; three sisters, Bernie and husband Steve Vogl of Little Falls, Nelda and husband Kevin Starr of Sauk Rapids, MN; mother and father-in-law James and Helen Andres of Pierz; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James, and grandparents.
