A Soldier of The Revolution

Private, Connecticut Line, Revolutionary War. He was a farmer at Aurora, New York in June, 1820. Jacob Pattengell of Bristol, Ontario Co., New York, formerly of Norwalk, Connecticut, enlisted in November or December, 1781, for three years in the 1st Conn., Col. Grosvenor; was transferred to the 3d Conn., Col. Webb, to the company of Capt. Stevens. Served 3 years; was at the surrender of Cornwallis. He was paid from Feb. 6 to Dec. 31, 1781, in Capt. Stephen Betts' Company in Norwalk, CT. Jacob Pattengell was the son of Daniel and Hannah (Soper) Pattengell.
