She was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Detroit and was the daughter of Edward and Lillian (Eisenzamer) Starr. She grew up in the Detroit area and attended school in Detroit.
The former Marjorie L. Starr married George Vatca on Dec. 1, 1951, in Detroit, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1986.
She moved to Escanaba in 1998, then to Pleasant Acres in Powers in 2000 and then to Pinecrest in Powers in 2004.
Marjorie Lucille Vatca was survived by daughters, Denise (Art) Pope of Escanaba and Dianna Vatca of Waterford, Mich.; son, Gregory (Nancy) Vatca of Marbury, Ala., five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Starr of Shelby Township, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Wally, and two sisters, Lillian and Joyce.
