Mildred was born June 14, 1909 in Massena to Neal and Belva (Hawks) Yarger. She graduated from Massena High School in 1927 and attended summer school earning an elementary teaching certificate. She taught at Victoria Country School No. 2 and Massena Public Schools for 2 years each.

On June 6, 1931 she married Clifford Follmann in Massena. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in Adair County until 1980 when she moved to Massena. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Massena, Massena Order of Eastern Star, Rose Garden Club, TTT Club and United Methodist Women's Faith Circle. She was a former 4-H leader, taught Sunday school for more than 60 years, sang in the church choir and taught Bible school.

Survivors include a daughter, Marcia (Steve) Frese; 2 sons, Russell and Leonard (Dorothy) Follman; 3 brothers, Glen (Lillian), John (Micki), and Wray (Helen) Yarger; 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandsons, 6 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
