Carl V. McCall, 82, of 1301 Licking St., Sligo, died at 8:40 a.m., Wednesday morning, July 9, 2008, at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born Feb. 3, 1926, in Sligo, he was the son of Ross McCall and Mae Craig McCall. Carl McCall graduated from Sligo High School in 1944. He was married, March 10, 1962, to and is survived by his wife, Vivian Horner McCall. Mr. McCall was affiliated with the Sligo Church of the Nazarene. Mr. McCall's hobbies included hunting, fishing and especially farming. He was a member of the Sligo Lions Club and served on the Sligo Boro council for many years. Mr. McCall was employed by McCall Packing & Gourley Packing. He was then self-employed as an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Company from May 15, 1965, through July 31, 1995. Also surviving are six children, daughter Kerry and husband Tony Sobietro, of Rochester N.Y., son Ken McCall of Brisbane, Calif., son Keith McCall and wife Linda of Boalsburg, son Kevin McCall and wife Theres, of Rimersburg, son, Karl McCall and wife Shelly of Rimersburg, son Kerby and wife Sherri of Bemus Point, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Daniel, Douglas, Malora, Kara, Kane, Nick, Leigha, Kaylee, Alyson and Kolden; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. McCall is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Craig McCall and wife Lois of Hilton Head, S.C., Don McCall and wife Dorothy of Sligo, Ella Henry of Sligo, Esther and husband Clyde Myers Jr. of Sligo; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. McCall was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sylvia, and a brother-in-law, Gene Henry. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home, Main Street, Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home, Rimersburg with the Rev. John Pannaton of the Sligo Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Sligo Church of the Nazarene or the Southern Clarion County Ambulance Association.
