Mrs. August Meier Dies in St. Paul
Mrs. August Meier of Royalton, resident of this community the past ten years, passed away at the West Side hospital in St. Paul November 23rd, death resulting from the effects of an operation. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Moebus of Rush Lake, on Wednesday of last week, November 27th, and the remains were laid to rest in Riverview cemetery.
Mrs. Catherine Meier was born in Fosbach in Hessen, Germany, on December 8th, 1859, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dingel. She came to the United States in 1883 and settled in Iowa. She was united in marriage to August Meier on August 20, 1894. They came to Pine City 10 years ago and live southwest of town on the old Brunswick road. She is survived by her husband and 3 children, Mrs. Ruth Puckett of Ogilvie, Mrs. Bertha Miller of St. Paul and Carl who lives at home, also 3 stepchildren, Mrs. Anna Martin of Iowa, Henry of Royalton and Jacob of Comfrey.
