Erhardt was the son of Erhard Accola and Dorathea Branger.
He was the brother of George Accola, Casper E Accola, Jacob Accola (born abt 1847), and Martha Accola.
Erhardt arrived in New York with his parents and siblings on May 2, 1856.
He was the husband of (1) Anna Kindschi (married March 14, 1867) and (2) Anna Walter.
Erhardt and Anna Kindschi were the parents of Andrew; Jacob; Mary; Ursula; Erhart Lawrence; George C; Anna K; John Henry; Heinrich W; Lidia; and Dora B.
Erhardt's brother, Jacob Accola as well as a servant, Elbetz Casper (born abt 1863) lived with Erhard and Anna Kindschi Accola.
After Anna Kindschi died in 1890, Erhard married Anna Walter.
Erhardt and Anna Walter were the parents of Maud B, (born April 28, 1897 - died May 5, 1972 in Prairie du Sac), and Walter Erhardt (born September 3, 1899 - died March 29 1973 in Baraboo).
Erhardt's mother-in-law, Barbra Walter (born abt 1827) was living with the family in 1900. She was a widowed mother of eight children, seven of whom were living.
The family migrated to the USA with their Uncle Martin following the death of parents his and settled near Prairie de Sac. Erhardt sereved in Union army during The American Civil War. He enlisted December 26, 1863. He had the upper joint of his right thumb shot off in battle. He used mustering out money to purchase a farm in Honey Creek.
The farm was later owned by his grandson, George Accola and transferred to Accola Family Farms, LLC before George died. Erhardt was reportedly a very hard worker with a deep concern for his family. He made it possible for each of his sons to have a farm near the homestead if they wished. The farm in Swiss Valley (near Prairie Du Sac) is continued in the Accola family. Great Grandchildren Russell, Gloria, Linda, Alan, and Les are the current owners. JoAnn Accola is involved in the upkeep of the farm.
According to his granddaughter Leta (Mueller) Ambler, Erhardt Accola came, along with 3 of his orphaned siblings to the United States from Switzerland around 1858. He fought in the Civil War before settling in Sumpter Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin.
