Roger G. Ruyle, age 68, of Staunton,IL formerly of Prairietown and New Berlin, died at 3:37 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

He was born on June 28, 1936, in Alton, the son of the late Alfred R. Ruyle and Ursula Elphya Winsom.

He married Marie Crabtree on Oct. 6, 1962, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown. She survives.

Also surviving a son: Jeff Ruyle and wife, Amy of Prairietown; a daughter: Julie Ruyle of Troy, Mo.; a half-brother: Kenneth Ruyle and wife, Sharon of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; an aunt: Zelma Paynter of Alton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Ruyle was a truck driver for Grow Mark Inc. in central Illinois for 34 years, retiring on Dec. 31, 1993. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1956 to 1958. His memberships included St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown, past member of St. John's Lutheran Church of New Berlin, the Madison County Fireman's Association, and an honorary member of Prairietown Volunteer Fire Department.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown with Rev. Robert Barth and Rev. James Hennig officiating.

Interment will be at Prairietown Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Building Fund, the American Cancer Society or St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
