John C. Johnson born Dec. 25, 1816 son of Daniel Johnson & his wife Nancy Coughran; he was the oldest of 5 children; Daniel was a carpenter and joiner living in Attica, NY. John C died Nov. 30, 1896; married Nov. 24, 1839 Eliza Prentice who died May 28, 1896. They had 8 children: Milo, Perry, William P. Charles W., twins Ida and Lida, Amanda.
Obit further states in March 1837 he traveled to Canada and then to Detroit then to Lima and finally to Noble County in the town of Sparta where he died.
