"In the midst of life we are in death." Monday evening, Oct. 7th, Sarah A. White, daughter of James and Lucretia Patterson, was called home. She was born in Clark County, February 16, 1833, and at a very early age came to this county with her parents, where she spent the remainder of her life. She was united in marriage to James White who departed this life May 30, 1873. At the age of sixteen years she united with the New Pisgah Presbyterian Church.
Her's was a quiet, unassuming life. She was a kind and loving mother whose virtues will be cherished by all who knew her. She was the mother of ten children, nine of whom survive. These and fifteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, three brothers, and one sister, besides a host of friends, are left to mourn their loss.
