Following is his obit which was found taped inside an old very large, Masonic Bible belonging to William Calvin McDill. Would you please add this to the bio section. If by chance you know any of this family, we would like to see that it goes back to the family.

Unidentified newspaper:
"Robert Y. McDill was born in Preble county, Ohio, October 5, 1832, and died at Sterling Kansas, June 27, 1909, his age being 76 years, 8 months and 22 days. Mr. McDill moved with his father's family in 1842 to Henderson county, Illinois. He was married to Mary A. Pinkerton in 1856. She died in 1863. To this union one son was born, D. A. McDill, who lives at Sterling. Mr. McDill's second marriage was to Martha W. Giles on October 4, 1864. To this union were born two sons and two daughters--W. C. McDill of Anthony, Kansas, Mrs. Jessie Fullerton of Fowler, California, Ella McDill, who died at the age of 14, and James A. McDill of Sterling, Kansas. Mr. McDill moved with his family to Walton, Kansas, in 1877, and to Sterling in 1886, which has been his home ever since. He united with the United Presbyterian church in early life at South Henderson, Illinois. He lived a consistent christian life and bore his last sickness with christian fortitude. His children were all present at the funeral except Mrs. Fullerton. Besides his wife and children there survives him eleven grandchildren, two brothers, James C. McDill and David C. McDill of Biggsbille, Illinois, two sisters, Mrs. Ellen J. Stanley of Biggsville, Illinois, and Mrs. May Graham of Walton, Kansas. The funeral services were held in the United Presbyterian church in this city on Monday at 4 p.m. and were in charge of Rev. Ira S. Bundy and Prof. A. N. Porter assisted by Dr. F. M. Spencer. Interment was in Cottonwood cemetery. Sterling, Kansas Bulletin."
