H.C. Pearson Passes Away

H. C. Pearson, age 81 {in error, actually 82}, died at his home here Thursday, June 29. Although he had been a semi-invalid since January, he had been seriously ill only two days. Funeral services were held at Barrett's Chapel Friday afternoon with the Rev. A. F. Durham, pastor of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery near Clinton , Ky. , former home of the deceased. Pall bearers were Messrs. George Rogers, Harris Johnson, Jasper Leggate, C. N. Holland, Alvin White and Rev. Durham.

Mr. Pearson had lived here since 1912. Until his retirement about eight years ago he was in the shoe repair business. Had he lived until December 16, he and Mrs. Pearson would have passed their golden wedding anniversary. He belonged to the Christian church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Rachel Williams Pearson, one daughter, Mrs. Edward B. Wiley of Hickman; four sons, Carl of Tiptonville, Neil of Jackson, Tenn., Simon and Wayne of Hickman; and 14 grandchildren.
