Naomi Elizabeth Welk, 99, of Westminster, died Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Golden Crest in Westminster. Born May 2, 1924 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Harry Horning and Maraud Greenholtz Horning. Her husband Norman J. Welk died June 7, 1993.

She graduated from New Windsor High School in 1942. Before retiring in 1986 she worked at Random House.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jerry A. and Deborah Welk of Palmer, TX, one sister Ruby Hersberger of Westminster. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Wayne E. Welk, daughter-in-law Bonnie Welk, 5 siblings Thelma Turner, Lester Gerald, Lloyd and Milred Horning.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Baust Church Cemetery.
