John Q. Adams, a resident of Troy township for seventy years and one of the respected and esteemed citizens of the county throughout his life, succumbed to the death angel Thursday night, after a short illness of three weeks duration, from heart trouble.
He was born in Putnam county, New York, November 28, 1829, and was aged 79 years, 3 months and 21 days. He came to this county when a lad of ten years and grew to manhood in the township where he resided all his life. He was married there in 1854 to Melinda Cummins, who survives him. Three children were born to them, two surviving – Walter Adams, of Troy township, and Mrs. William Russell, of Etna township. He was the last of his race, Levi Adams, another brother, dying a couple of years ago.
