COL. LEVI S. DOMINY.

Levi S. Dominy died at Massena, Tuesday, April 15, from two strokes of apoplexy.

Mr. Dominy was born at West Chazy, Jan. 23, 1831, and was 71 when he died. He received a common school education, after which he taught school the most of the time until the Civil War broke out. In 1862 he enlisted, and went into the service as captain of Co. B, 118th New York infantry. While in the service he was always in the thickest of fights, but was wounded but once.

Previous to his removal to Massena, he married Fanny DeWitt, of Fredonia, who survives him. A daughter was the result of this union, who died in infancy; a brother, William Dominy, of Chicago, Illinois, and three sisters, Mrs. William Wright, of Ogdensburg; Mrs. John Anderson, Of West Chazy, and Mrs. John Atkinson, of Iowa, also survive him.

Mr. Dominy was an enthusiastic member of Col. Hiram Anderson Post, G.A.R.; A member of St. John's Episcopal church, of which he was senior warden at the time of his death.
