Note: The information below came to me from Janet Huseby Stephenson

From the Harvey Sathre Estate:

Parents were Thor Ellingson Holum and Anna Maria Otternes. Anna Maria Holum died in childbirth in 1875, age 21; the infant daughter, Maria, survived and was the only child of this marriage. Thor then married Karen Lie and the couple with children moved up to Flom, Norman County, Minnesota.

Daughter, Maria, returned to Back Hammer when she was of confirmation age. Her home was with her grandmother, Brita Ivarsdtr. Frondal Otternes. This remained her home until her marriage in Black Hammer to Helmer K. Ike. Her Holum grandparents were also nearby.

Maria Holum Ike and Helmer K. Ike farmed in Black Hammer until their retirement when they then moved in to Spring Grove village. They both died in 1960 and are buried in the Spring Grove Trinity West End Cemetery. The Ike farm was then owned by their son Ted Ike and wife Thora Flatin Ike.
