Marvin Berry was born July 3, 1921, and died November 6, 2001.
He was born on the homestead north of Cheyenne to Jay and Mary Berry.
He attended country schools near the homestead and at Albin, Wyoming.
He enlisted in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He then returned to the ranch and joined his father and two brothers in raising registered Hereford cattle. For many years he pursued his love of the Hereford business. He showed cattle at the Wyoming State Fair, Denver Stock Show and at various other shows.
In 1980, after the retirement of his brothers, Marvin and son Jay continued in the registered Hereford business. He is widely respected in the Hereford industry.
He was a member of the Wyoming Hereford Association, the American Hereford Association and the Wyoming Stockgrowers.
He was a founding member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
He married Margaret Malm in Albin, Wyoming on June 17, 1949.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, son Lynn, and brother Jim.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, brother Dorance of Cheyenne, sister Mary Wells of Torrington, daughter Pat Doherty of Greeley, Colo., son Jay of Cheyenne, daughter Janette Mc Cahan of Loveland, Colo., five granddaughters and three grandsons.
Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Bernett L. Yorton officiating.
Private Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
