Louis E. Allen - 1925-2002

Louis E. Allen, Ph.D., 76, of Cheyenne died on April 17 at the Life Care of Cheyenne.
Mr. Allen was born on July 19, 1925, in Sheridan.
He was an engineering instructor at Sheridan College from 1955 to 1966 and a water resources engineer and hydrologist for the State of Wyoming. He retired in August of 1986.
Mr. Allen married Mildred May Thompson on Feb. 21, 1957, in Ault, Colo.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Wyoming Engineering Society, life member American Society of Civil Engineers, past president of ASCE Wyoming Section, life member American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Wyoming Water Development Association and Wyoming Section of National Society of Professional Engineers.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Mildred M. Allen of Cheyenne; two daughters, Shirley C. Mitchell of Upton and Nancy L. Osterman-Rowland of Marion, Mich.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jessie (Elliott) Allen and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Schrader Chapel with the Rev. Brian High officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
