To Unveil Marker at Gate City Va.
Sarah White's Grave on the Nickelsville Road to Be Marked Sunday
A marker will be unveiled at 3:30 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, September third, in the old Lawson cemetery near Gate City on the Nickelsville road, at the grave the first iron forge in Scott of Sarah White, daughter of a revolutionary soldier, and wife of Dr. William B. White, builder of county. The White home was located at old White's Forge, five miles east of Gate City. Among those from a distance who expect to attend the unveiling ceremony are the following grandchildren and great grandchildren: Mrs. John W. Flannagan, Jr., Bristol, Va.; Mrs. Malcolm Smith, Big Stone Gap; Mrs. Frank Handy, Appalachia; Clifford Smith, Roda, Va.; W.R.F. White, Roy White, Joe White, Roy White, Jr., James White, William White and Mrs. Sam McCall, Richlands, Va. -newspaper article from Ruth Smith Handy's scrap book (unfortunately no date with this article)
