Hawthorne - LUCILLE HAWKINS WELLS, 77, passed away Wednesday August 29, 2007. She was a long time resident of Hawthorne, Florida. Throughout her life, Lucille was known as "Granny" or "Granny the biscuit maker" by all who knew her and to her foster grandchildren at Shell Elementary, she was known as "Granny Wells." She worked within Shell Elementary in Alachua County for the past 13 years and will be dearly missed by all.

Mrs. Wells is survived by her 4 children, Wilburn V. Wells of Williston, Winifred E. Ewing of Newberry, Willis Wells of Hawthorne and John A. Wells of Hawthorne; two brothers, James Hawkins of South Carolina and Henry Hawkins of Gainesville; 12 Grandchildren and 23 Great-Grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends Friday August 31, 2007 from 6 to 7:30 PM at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE 22205 SE 69th Ave, Hawthorne.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 1, 2007 at 10AM at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE with Rev. Ben Blankenship officiating.

Interment to follow at Forest Meadows East.
