James Gregory "Greg" Handy, 41, of Roanoke and formerly of Franklin County, died Saturday, August 16, 2008, at his home. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Andrew and Hattie May Via Handy, Lee Edward Sr. and Pauline Allman Cooper. He is survived by his parents, Lynwood and Linda Handy; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Scott Fleming; aunts and uncles, Vicki and Donald Dudley, Paulette Cooper, Lee Edward Jr. and Marni Cooper, Randy and Peggy Handy, Bill and Janet Handy, Roger Handy, Harold and JaRena Handy; cousins, Clay and Brad, Ty, Katie and Alison, Molly, Joe and Haywood; special cousins, Kevin Dudley and Lori Dudley; a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008, with Dr. John Plummer officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will accept flowers or for those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Planned Pethood Clinic, 18401 Virgil H. Goode Hwy, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
