Wife of Terry "Ears" Smith
Betty J. Smith, 66, Carson Valley, Duncansville, died Sunday at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, after a brief bout with cancer.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Paul P. Sr. and Elizabeth M. (Funk) Cruthers. She married Terry R. "Ears" Smith March 15, 1963, in Winchester, Va. He died Dec. 5, 2003.
She enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Surviving are two sons: Scott and wife, Lisa, of Greenwood, and Paul E. "Jeep" of Carson Valley; three sisters: Linda S. and husband, Wayne Davis, of Lakemont, Nancy J. Hock of Altoona and Judith A. and husband, Charles McCormick, of Altoona; three brothers: Richard J. of Altoona, Thomas W. and wife, Peggy, of Moncks Corner, S.C., and Harry E. of Los Angeles; two grandchildren: Nicholas and Kasey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul P. Jr.; and a sister, Shirley M. Vaughn.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006, and 10 a.m. to the 11 a.m. services Thursday, July 20, officiated by Pastor T.M. Talbot-Moses, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home Inc., 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
