Dene Calvert Adkins, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Graveside services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Dene was born February 28, 1927 in Kansas City, MO, to John D. and Katherine (Calvert) Adkins whom preceded him in death. He was a Mason and a veteran of U.S. Navy serving during WWII and the Korean War. He was a plumber with the Plumbers Local #8. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie I. Adkins and great grandson, Tanner Nobles and brother, Norman Adkins. He leaves his children, Rebecca Adkins of Olathe, KS and Mark Adkins and wife, Janice, of Raymore, MO; sister, Mary E. Cannon of Mission, TX; 7 grandchildren.
