Funeral services for Charles Wesley Amis, 56, native Giles Countian, were held Thursday afternoon at First Baptist Church in Athens, Ala, with burial in Athens City Cemetery. Mr. Amis died early Wednesday morning, November 8, at his home, 4710 Franklin Road, Nashville, after suffering a heart attack. He had made his home in Nashville twenty-one years where he had operated his own business. Born November 12, 1904, in Giles County, he was the son of the late John L. Amis and Emma Allen Amis. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Amis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Orlean Graves Amis; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Tolleson, New Orleans, La.; and two brothers, John Horace Amis, Pulaski, and Frank Amis, Detroit, Mich.
