John Price Allen of Paradise Bottom, Meade Co. KY passed away suddenly at St. Joseph Infirmary, Thursday, Nov 4, 1948. He was born 9 June 1884, a son of Lige and Elizabeth Ostrander Allen. He was married to Nellie L. Edmonds, March 4, 1905, who preceded him in death in May 1946. To this union was born 2 sons Joseph E. and Alfred E. Allen; 2 daughters Ada Virginia and Mildred. Joseph and Ada died in infancy.
He was a member of the Bethel Chapel Methodist Church.
He is survived by 1 son Alfred E. Allen of Louisville and 1 daughter, Mrs. Mildred Burrell of Roberta; oe granddaughter Brenda Kathryn Burrell; 3 sisters Mrs. Blanch Youtsler of Middletown, Ohio, Mrs Ed Wood of Flint, Mich, and Mrs Henry Holloway, San Antonio Texas; 2 brothers Capt. Alfred Allen of Shively, KY and Edward S. Allen of Cincinnati, Ohio; 7 nieces and 7 nephews.
Funeral services from the E.V. Wright Funeral Home, Sat. Nov. 6th at 1:30 p.m. and at New Highland Church at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. E.B. English. Burial in church cemetery.
