Cardwell "Cardie" is my daddy. He was born in Hackett, Sebastian or Randolph County, Arkansas.

Parents were Andrew Jackson Brentlinger (1864/64,IN or IL) and Crissadia Angelena Sykes/Sikes(1863, ?MO--1932,Sand Springs Oklahoma.

Cardie had 7 siblings Flora Neoma(Ward), William Arthur Brentlinger, Carrol Edward Brentlinger, Cora Angelena (Stroud), Elvena Katharine(Clark), Stella Marie (White)and Henry Lee Brentlinger.

I was told by my Aunt Vergie (Virginia Naomi Payne),wife of Henry, before she died that Andrew Jackson Brentlinger died when Cardie was 17 yrs old and Cardie couldn't make it in Arkansas growing potatoes so he moved the family to Oklahoma.

On 27th August 1927 Cardie married Sadie Deloss (Sherwood)Stumpf in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This was his first marriage. On March 21, 1950 the Final Decree of Divorce was issued in Fresno County,California.

Cardie later married Iva M (?) Brentlinger,(1905-1981), she was from Arkansas. She died in June 1981 and is buried in Searcy County, Arkansas and is on Find A Grave at another site.

He is survived by two daughters Carolyn and Elvena.

Moore Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral. He is buried at Rose Hills Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Cardie was a truck driver. In 1940's Cardie drove a truck for Tulsa Paper Company. I have a picture of me sitting on the fender of the large truck. He later (maybe in the 1950's) drove for Goodwill Industries. He also held jobs as a carpenter. These are just the jobs that I knew or remembered.

Cause of his death was Metabolic Acidosis, Carcinomatosis, and Carcinoma of the bladder.

I have the marriage license of Cardie and Sadie, the divorce papers, and a copy of his death certificate.

**Thank you so much to everyone who visits my loved ones and leaves flowers, tokens and notes. Your kindness and thoughtfulness are greatly appreciated more than I can say.**
