OBITUARY

WAR VETERAN DIES
Alliance, Feb. 5-(Special.)-
John Edward Oyer, a pioneer resident of Paris, died Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock after a short illness. He had been in failing health for several years due to an injury received during the Civil War. He was born in Center county, Pennsylvania, July 10,1843 coming to Ohio when he was a child. February 4, 1863 he married Miss Nannie Marks of Richland county, Ohio. He is survived by his widow and the following children: Mrs. J G Johnson, Wheeling, W Va; Mrs. John A Wingert of Alliance; Mrs D A Drake, Alliance; Mrs. H Haines, Minerva, and Miss Hazel Oyer, Harry and Homer Oyer of Paris. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock at his late home with funeral in the Paris cemetery.
